Understanding the most effective ways to help Los Angeles in the wildfire crisis
COFFEE:
Donating directly to the organizations listed below is the most direct and effective way to help LA. Please know that, should you still need coffee this month from us, any and all profits will additionally go directly to the below linked organizations.
PEOPLE & EMERGENCY RESPONSE:
According to Emergency Network Los Angeles, monetary donations to Salvation Army and American Red Cross are "the fastest, most flexible and most effective method of donating. Organizations on the ground know what items and quantities are needed, often buy in bulk with discounts and, if possible, purchase through businesses local to the disaster, which supports economic recovery." It's also been stated that an overwhelming amount of physical supplies have been donated and they don't have the means to properly circulate them, so donating money is indeed the best way to help.
ANIMALS:
Monetary donations to LA Animal Services are "the best way to help animals in times of an emergency as it ensures we will be able to access necessary resources to provide support." Their partners are many of the recognized organizations you likely know of like the ASPCA and Best Friends.
LA ANIMAL SERVICES DONATIONS Tragically they had online fraud when they need your support the most. Please consider writing them a check (instructions at bottom of linked page). They need your help!
The individual shelters aren't set up on a macro network in a financial sense. Please consider donating to them as well.
